PETERSFIELD Triathlon Club (PTC) members have been busy competing in the Southern Cross Country league against 22 other clubs.
There are six events between October and March, each covering around five muddy miles.
There are some 300 runners at each race, and a team comprises five men and three ladies.
The last race was held at Manor Farm Country Park, Botley, near Southampton, on January 21, which was a particularly cold and wet day.
Overall PTC finished in 12th place at Manor Farm, with the ladies’ team finishing in eighth place and the men’s team finishing in 17th place.
PTC members also took part in the Chilly Hilly Cross Country race at Queen Elizabeth Country Park on Sunday, taking in nearly 1,000ft of climbing over 10km of muddy trails.
Strong performances were put in all round, with Lucy Mitchell placing second overall female. The team also enjoyed their bowls of chilli provided by the organisers.
PTC have a wide range of friendly training sessions over the week covering the three disciplines of swimming, cycling and running, with coaching available for all levels from complete beginner upwards.
The club also pick out a number of key local events over the season where there will always be other members attending and supporting each other.
