MEMBERS of Petersfield Triathlon Club (PTC) took part in the Chichester Triathlon on Sunday.

Emily Iredale won the Olympic distance race, which consisted of a 600m pool swim, a 40km bike ride and a 10km run.

In the sprint distance, which consisted of a 400m pool swim, a 33km bike ride and a 5km run, Josh Lahiri won his age category and came fifth overall, and Chris Turner won her age category.

David and Lou Robbins flew the PTC flag at the Thorpe Park Triathlon, and they finished 13th and 14th in their age categories in a very competitive field.

PTC’s Sarah Matthews and Andrew Bagnell raced the Tour of Cambridgeshire Chrono, which is a time trial event on a course of 16.4 miles which started and finished in the East of England Showground in Peterborough.

The event is a Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) event, and a qualifier for the World Championships which take place in Varese, Italy, in August, and Matthews and Bagnell both qualified for the World Championships.

The race is an age group event for amateurs and Matthews won her 55 years old to 59 years old age group by finishing 55 seconds ahead of her nearest rival.

The day ended with a podium presentation for the top three in every age group.
