Petersfield under-14 Boys 8 Chichester 2: PETERSFIELD under-14 Boys dominated possession for much of the first third, but despite many surging attacks they failed to score.

However, ten minutes into the second third, Cooke-Priest’s aerial pass found Hill, who glanced the ball past the keeper to open the scoring. Minutes later Ankers converted a penalty corner to put Petersfield 2-0 up.

Chichester rallied well and immediately fought back, stretching Field’s defence and scoring twice to level the scores at 2-2.

The pressure was tense and the tempo was high, with both teams trying to exert control, when Roberts was perfectly placed to sweep in a cross from Morris to put Petersfield 3-2 ahead.

Petersfield then took total control of the game and mounted an onslaught of attacks through both Slingsby brothers, Maughan-Taylor, Anderson and Bell.

The attacks resulted in well executed goals from Chung and Price, and a further three goals from Hill, including a perfectly struck reverse hit which arched into the top right hand corner.

The comprehensive victory took Petersfield to joint top of the table.
