Aldershot & Farnham 0 Petersfield under-14 Boys 4: FOR THE first quarter of the match neither team managed to assert any dominance and the balance of play was even.

With a few players playing out of position, Petersfield took their time to find their rhythm.

A couple of tactical positional changes helped Petersfield find their form. A well-worked drive forward from the midfield was promptly rewarded with a skilful chip over the keeper from Hill.

Cooke-Priest scored Petersfield’s second goal shortly before half time with a reverse sweep.

Petersfield started to take control in the second half and a number of surging attacks put Aldershot and Farnham under pressure in the D. Penalty corner practice paid off with Chung sprinting in on the far post for a perfectly timed deflection to make it 3-0.

Petersfield’s superior fitness kept the pressure on Aldershot and Farnham in midfield. Bell, Price, Maughan-Taylor and F Slingsby turned defence into counter attacks up the wings. Petersfield’s victory was sealed by relentless determination from Ankers, who threaded the ball through for O Slingsby to neatly slot past the keeper.
