Camberley & Farnborough IV 4 Petersfield III 4: PETERSFIELD’S third team continued their unbeaten start to the season with a hard-fought draw against Camberley and Farnborough’s fourth team.

Petersfield had the upper hand for the opening 20 minutes, and their accurate passing and midfield possession was rewarded with a clinical opening goal from T Cooke-Priest.

Camberley and Farnborough reacted well and pushed the play back into Petersfield’s half. The home side were rewarded with two goals before the break and a third after the break.

Petersfield kept their composure and fought back. Cains led a fast-breaking counter attack and found Ankers at the top of the D, who buried a reverse hit into the backboard to make it 3-2.

Petersfield continued to push. MacIntyre came in from the left wing and neatly picked up a cross and deftly slotted the ball past the keeper to equalise.

The home side’s frustration at losing the initiative was clearly visible, resulting in a green card.

Petersfield now had the momentum and took advantage with J Cooke-Priest slamming a fourth goal in from a rare father-son attacking combination to put Petersfield 4-3 ahead.

Camberley and Farnborough were awarded a short corner with just a couple of minutes remaining. The strike was saved by White diving to his right, but the home side were quick to follow up with a chip over the keeper, which Field’s defence couldn’t keep out.
