PETERSFIELD Hockey Club’s under-eights shined at the Fareham Hockey Festival.

A mixture of experienced under-eights, and some players playing tournament hockey for the first time, combined superbly to come away with six wins from their six matches.

The festival was the first of the season and, considering some in the team had only picked up a hockey stick for the first time a few weeks ago, there was some lovely team hockey on show.

Dru Wiggington, George Shanks, Harry Cleife and Thomas Crabtree picked up from where they left off last season, being a year older they provided a strong and very competitive spine to the team, aided by a mixture of determination, enthusiasm and flair from Tessa Godber, Tom Shanks and Sid Suraj.

Despite some tired young legs at the end the team thoroughly enjoyed themselves, and their often free flowing hockey culminated in 24 goals for and zero against.
