AN ANNUAL cycle festival near Petersfield which attracts hundreds of cyclists of all ages is returning this weekend.

The two-day event on Saturday and Sunday will once again be held at Queen Elizabeth Country Park (QECP).

The festival is organised by Hargroves Cycles, and visitors will have a choice of more than 130 mountain bikes and ebikes to try out between 10am and 4pm on both days.

Children’s races will also be held at QECP from 10am to 2pm on both days.

Hargroves Cycles marketing manager Matt Treviss said: “There will be lots of bikes for the kids to try out and there will be plenty of thrills and spills.

“We’ve also got a good range of different sizes of bikes for the adults to try, so there will be plenty of choice.

“We’ve had about 300 people register online for the bike demonstrations, and people can just turn up on the day – we’re hoping for 500 to 600 people.”

A day and night enduro race will also be held at QECP on Saturday evening.

“The enduro is already sold out,” said Matt.

“The entry fees for the enduro will go towards making the trails at QECP even better. We’ve got camping available on the weekend and plenty of catering on site with a burger van and coffee, and a bar in the evening, so people can watch the enduro after the demonstrations.

“We have a great relationship with QECP, and they run the races superbly for us.”
