ROGATE Tennis Club held a family tennis tournament, with 13 families battling it out to become the Rogate under-tens red ball champions.

The two outdoor courts were transformed by mini-nets into four smaller courts allowing children aged between two and ten years old to play each other. Each pair competing comprised one child aged under ten and an adult.

The event started at 10am and the winners were the pair who achieved the highest points over all their games. A brief shower at lunchtime didn’t dampen anyone’s desire to play, and afterwards a bouncy castle and barbecue entertained everyone.

The event was a tremendous success with many families new to tennis enjoying playing together. The overall winners were the Palfrey family and the runners-up were the Zawoda family. The club thanked everybody who made the day a success by giving up their time or loaning equipment.
