PETERSFIELD Rugby Club are introducing girls’ rugby for the start of next season, with the help of England scrum half Leanne Riley.
Pam Cheeseman, who is heading the drive, said: “It is fantastic that seven schools in the Petersfield area were very keen to have us visit them and support the club in encouraging girls in the under-11 to under-16 age groups to play rugby.
“Leanne is visiting the schools, talking to the girls and giving coaching sessions which have proved very popular. The girls will then be invited to join us at Penns Place for three taster sessions. Leanne will be with us for each taster session. Any girls are invited and parents will also be welcome.”
The first two taster sessions at Penns Place will be from 11am to 1pm on July 22 and August 12, and the third session will be from 1pm to 3pm on September 2. E-mail [email protected] for more details.
