PETERSFIELD Rugby Club’s senior teams had a frustrating weekend.

The first team’s winless run continued as they crashed to a comprehensive 61-10 defeat at Chineham in Snows Group Hampshire 1 on Saturday.

Petersfield have only won one league game so far this season, and that was a 25-18 victory against Ellingham and Ringwood back on September 26.

Petersfield also drew 0-0 against Farnborough on December 5, but they have lost their other ten league matches so far this season and are facing the possibility of relegation to Snows Group Hampshire 2.

The team will hope to bounce back next Saturday, but they face a tough task against high-flying Bognor at Penns Place (2.15pm).

Petersfield lost the reverse league fixture 62-0 at Bognor on October 24.

Petersfield’s second team are enjoying a successful season, but they had to settle for a 17-17 draw from their match against Trojans’ third team at Penns Place in the Hampshire South East Merit League on Saturday.

The second team will hope to make a swift return to winning ways when they make the trip to Ryde next Saturday (2pm).

Petersfield’s third team are having a reasonable season, but they slipped to a 29-12 defeat at Alresford’s second team in the Hampshire North Merit League on Saturday.

The third team will hope to return to winning ways when they host Eastleigh’s third team next Saturday at Penns Place (2pm).
