Petersfield 3rd XV 17 Farnborough 2nd XV 19: PETERSFIELD’S third team narrowly lost their league fixture against Farnborough’s second team.

The third team continue to grow in confidence and set up some good moves in the backline, as evidenced by Dan Freeman’s try immediately after the break. Farnborough failed to deal with the ball from the restart and Field capitalised straight away. The home side ran the ball from right to left from the ensuing ruck before feeding Freeman who cut in at pace on an outside-in line. The converted try put Field into a lead that they held for most of the second half before the visitors powered over late on – the conversion giving them the win.

The win allowed Farnborough to close the gap to Field in the table, but the home side remain in second place, trailing Andover’s third team on points-scored difference alone.
