PETERSFIELD coach James Alder was pleased with the outcome on Saturday.

Alder said: “The team started slowly against a determined side. We managed to get the try bonus point in the first half but left four tries on the field.

“The second half was a massive improvement with good passing in the backs building on great yards made by the forwards. The forwards are the best in the league and showed it again under captain Dan Luff. The backs put good, simple rugby together, with Jay Bremner directing around the pitch. Michael Robbins, Toby Sydenham and Harley Orr had solid games but Josh Haslett deserved man of the match for his four tries and 60 per cent kick success.

“We now wait to take on New Milton at home in the league decider, knowing it will be a massive challenge. The players are hungry to put in a massive performance and have the desire to claim the double over New Milton.”
