PETERSFIELD Rugby Club’s first team head coach James Alder was frustrated at his side’s defeat against Trojans, but was pleased that his side continue to try to play a fast and open style of rugby.

Alder said: “This season, with lots of disruptions, we have continued to play rugby in the right way. I’d have preferred us to take the win but the players did well to put their disappointments behind them and secure the losing bonus point. All the players stood up and put in a great shift. There were some stand out performances by Nick Blumlein, Zak Jenkins and Franco Tomic.

“The only negative was we did enough for 60 minutes to get the win, but Trojans’ experience showed at the right time.

“We are five points clear of Weybridge and every player is required to continue the fight, so Petersfield can secure their future in London 3 South West next season.”
