PETERSFIELD head coach James Alder saw plenty of positives from his side’s 26-22 defeat against Andover.

Alder said: “This is obviously not the result that we wanted but there were a lot of positives from the game.

“The young players continue to grow and, even at this early stage, are showing that they are a big part of the team.

“After some glitches last week, the pack was back on song this week and more than a match for the bigger Andover forwards.

“The centre pairing of Matt Momber and Toby Sydenham was forced on us by absences but the two were awesome in attack and defence, with no Andover player getting through either.

“This was a real senior section squad with players being pulled in to ensure a competitive team.

“A big thank-you for third team captain Dave Sloan, who stepped up last minute to play.”
