Petersfield Colts 31 Eastleigh Colts 31: PETERSFIELD Colts fought back to claim an honourable draw in their friendly against Eastleigh.

The game started with lots of pressure being exerted by the visitors, although Field held out and struck first with a break down the wing by Alexander and conversion from distance by Matthews. It was not long before Eastleigh’s forwards dominated in the breakdown and with quick moving ball and very slick hands in off-loads they scored a try. Eastleigh continued to be more fluid and clinical in execution to end the half 24-7 to the good.

In the second half Field fought back and tipped the scales in their favour. Fast hands and legs saw Field draw level with not many minutes remaining, leading to an exciting finale. Eastleigh managed to drive the ball over in the corner and convert to once again take the lead. Field had a few opportunities fall just short of completion before the final play of the match saw them stretch the defence and break through with White touching down and Matthews converting a pressure kick to end the match 31-31.
