Petersfield Colts 0 Farnborough Colts 19: BOTH teams produced a good game of rugby on a Petersfield pitch that was close to being unplayable.
The first 20 minutes were evenly fought in muddy conditions, with neither side dominating. Farnborough broke the deadlock when they broke through with an overlap to score in the corner. This spurred Field into action and the rest of the half was played deep in the Farnborough 22. After a sustained period of attack the ball was deemed to have been held up. The onslaught continued but Farnborough defended well to deny the home team.
Farnborough opened the second half with two converted tries in quick succession before Field got back into their stride. While Field made a good game of it they never quite managed to complete an attacking move, and Farnborough deserved to win as they coped better with the conditions on the day.
Field remain top of their league but this result ends their 100 per cent record, and they now look forward to playing Overton next week.
