Petersfield Colts 18 Farnborough Colts 10: PETERSFIELD Colts remained at the top of the league after earning a narrow win against Farnborough.
A rainy November afternoon at Penns Place provided the backdrop for a strong display of good rugby from both teams. Farnborough were first on the scoreboard with two unconverted tries. Field were then unable to find a gap in the Farnborough defence, despite being camped in the opposition 22 for long periods, and Field were 10-0 down at half time.
The second half started well for the home side with W Matthews claiming three points from a penalty, bringing Field back to within a converted try of the visitors. Heath then took up the mantle for Field and scored two tries, before Seaman scored the third try to seal the win.
Adverse conditions on the afternoon meant the conversions were never made, but Petersfield achieved yet another well-earned victory.
