Petersfield 22 Trojans 22: PETERSFIELD had to settle for a draw against Trojans in a game they could have won.

Field kicked off and were soon turned by a punt downfield from which the visitors built a patient attack that ended in an unconverted try.

The visitors soon scored their second try, which was converted, and the hosts found themselves 12-0 down.

Field responded well and prop Sam Brown breached Trojans’ defensive line with a powerful drive from a metre out to hammer the ball down on the whitewash. Blumlein added the extras.

The referee then presented a yellow to the Trojans’ hooker, but the visitors saw out the sin-binning with no change to the score.

At the end of the half Field elected to kick a penalty, and Blumlein sent them in at the break 12-10 down.

Catching Field napping just two minutes into the second half, Trojans’ secured their third try via a quickly taken penalty.

Field exerted their own pressure and were rewarded halfway through the third quarter with a short yardage drive by Brown and a fine conversion by Blumlein.

Within minutes Field again crossed the whitewash, following a powerful passage of play which was finished by Matt Momber.

The conversion from wide right was beyond Blumlein, but Field led 22-17.

Field lock Ryan Morse then received a yellow card after a slew of defensive penalties, and Trojans wasted no time in securing their fourth bonus point try.

The conversion went begging and it finished 22-22.
