PETERSFIELD head coach James Alder was very pleased with the end result at New Milton and perhaps a little relieved.
Alder said: “With our injury issues we could not have expected to gain the full five points from this match.
“To do so away from home against a team who are desperate for a win just shows how extremely hard the players have worked.
“Given the unfamiliar partnerships throughout the team, the battle has been as much a mental one as physical and is exemplified by our man-of-the-match Seb Tuff, who looked out on his feet before the game but put in a fantastic shift for his side, including scoring the try of the match.
“Against New Milton’s disruptive game plan we played positive rugby throughout, a testament to the ethos that runs through all the senior sides at Petersfield.
“My thanks and praise goes to all those players who stepped up to keep Field winning.”
