PETERSFIELD head coach James Alder was delighted with his side after their 10-8 win against Old Whitgiftian at Penns Place on Saturday.
Alder said: “This was a much-deserved victory. We played some good stuff, with the pack providing a great platform throughout the game. We could have secured a try bonus point today but errors and a heavy penalty count denied us and almost took the win away at the end.
“With a ninth different line up, the players did well to gel as a team. However, for us to start climbing up the table we need to finish the chances we work hard to create.
“Captain Jack Lumbard led from the front as usual and the side owe a great deal to Aaron Cartwright who not only put in a big shift but also stopped what looked to be a certain try with a huge tackle in the dying seconds of the game.”
Field travel away to Teddington for their next match on Saturday, December 1.
