PETERSFIELD Rugby Club head coach James Alder was proud of his side’s efforts during their 16-15 defeat against Old Tiffinians.

Despite their promising performance, Field were left to rue their profligacy in a match where they had the lion’s share of possession and territory.

Recognising their tireless effort around the pitch and ruthless scrummaging, Alder nominated the pack as the “player of the match”.

The senior teams have now finished their February fixtures and have a mini break until Saturday, March 2.

The first team will host Trojans on March 2 and will use the break to recuperate and tighten up on some of the areas that let them down on Saturday. Field lost 40-7 at Trojans in the reverse league fixture on November 3.

The second team will hit the road on March 2, when they will travel to Overton’s second team.
