WITH closest rivals Weybridge Vandals losing 32-23 away at Old Cranleighans on Saturday, Petersfield appear to have made themselves safe in ninth place in the league.

Field should now have done enough to stay in the London South West league – especially as fellow Hampshire clubs New Milton and Basingstoke have both had dismal seasons and remain firmly nailed to the bottom of the table.

However, Field will need to maintain their focus to finish off what has been a very difficult season with a win at away at Teddington this Saturday.

The home leg of this fixture was Field’s first game in the league and their first win, as they ran out 25-13 winners at Penns Place on September 9.

Field will be hoping they can finish their season as they started it, with another win against Teddington.

Field will take confidence into the game from their last two league matches, which have both been close affairs.
