Petersfield 2nd XV 27 Petersfield 3rd XV 0: WITH no league fixtures and a paucity of available friendly games, Petersfield Rugby Club was forced to turn its attentions inward to get some rugby as the second team took on the third team.

While the final score looks to be a whitewash, the third team forced the second team to work hard for their five tries which were scattered among the pack and backs. The effervescent Lee Jones got back into the scoring habit with a fine try and was joined on the scoresheet by the hard working Ryan Morse, with Franko Tomic, Gareth MacGillivray and Craig Chance.

Following the match, both sides got together to watch England’s win over Ireland in the Six Nations.

All four of Field’s senior sides should be in action next Saturday, with the first team and the veterans at home to Isle of Wight and Guildford, respectively, while the second team and third team travel to Portsmouth’s third team and Farnborough’s second team. All bar the veterans are playing for league honours, and the veterans will be looking to finish with a 100 per cent record for the season.
