PETERSFIELD Rugby Club have welcomed Fiona Pocock as its ambassador for women’s and girls’ rugby at the club.
Pocock began her playing career at Petersfield, staying with the club until she was 16, a time she describes as having provided a building block of rugby experience and fun in the early stages of her life.
Seeking fresh challenges and looking to continue her development, Pocock moved to Richmond, playing alongside and against the best in the country. It wasn’t long before her talents had caught the eye of the international selectors, and at 17 she was selected for the elite playing squad and received her first cap in the same year.
Pocock has gone on to win 32 international caps and won four Six Nations Championships, three of which were grand slams, a silver medal in the 2010 World Cup and caps for England and Great Britain Sevens. At Harlequins she was part of the squad that won silver in the Tyrell’s Premier 15s in the 2017-18 season.
Following her graduation in 2010, Pocock progressed into a career in personal training, running her own personal training business for the last eight years.
