PETERSFIELD RFC brought the curtain down on arguably their most successful season with the annual Pub Sevens held at Penns Place.

The plate competition saw the George, the Folly, the Cricketers (Farncombe) and White Hart progress at the expense of the American Bar, the Flying Bull, the Park Tavern and the Joseph Paxton. The Folly went on to beat the George while the Cricketers despatched the White Hart.
The rain stopped at the start of the cup quarter finals with Annie Jones, the Queen’s Head, the White Horse and the Clubhouse Hunters putting paid to the efforts of the Town House, the Andy Millar Balcony Squad and the Spotted Cow.
All three finals were close. In the bowl final the Bird in Hand beat the King Street Tavern 33-26, in the plate final the Folly beat the Cricketers 17-14, and in the cup final the White Horse beat the Queen’s Head 21-17.
