Shuff wins squash club’s annual closed event

PETERSFIELD Squash Club held its annual closed event at the Taro Leisure Centre.

Many competitors played earlier rounds, which resulted in eight players of the club battling it out for the top senior prize. With many of the favourites out with injury, Sam Shuff seized his opportunity and beat John Cornell and Gary Cox before overcoming Tim Pescud in the final 11-7, 11-3, 11-9.

Shuff said: “It has taken me three years to achieve this dream of becoming club champion.”

Elsewhere, James Graham came fourth in an under-11s bronze tournament at Winchester.
