Petersfield Ladies 2 United Services Portsmouth Ladies 2: PETERSFIELD Ladies earned a share of the spoils from their home match against United Services Portsmouth Ladies on Saturday.

The last time the teams faced each other at the beginning of the season, Petersfield lost 2-1 away.

The game was played at a high intensity. Petersfield attacked down the wings while the visitors loaded play down the centre.

It wasn’t long before a gap opened up for Sinclair to take the ball to the top of the D and she struck the ball past the keeper and into the back of the net.

The visitors responded strongly and went on the attack. The ball deflected up on to Llewelyn’s collar bone in front of goal, and United Services were awarded a penalty flick which they converted to make the score 1-1 at half time.

Petersfield enjoyed a period of dominance after the break, with wave after wave of attacks. Bardoe went on a run up the left and linked the play to O’Kelly up front, who found Sinclair.

Sinclair weaved her way through the defenders and drew the keeper out and popped the ball through her legs to put the home side back in front.

The visitors went on the attack and a high ball into the D caught Llewelyn on the knee and a short corner was awarded.

The ball was fired to the right post and Llewelyn stopped it on the line, but she was unable to clear before two United Services forwards pushed the ball over the line to make it 2-2.
