Petersfield Ladies 6 Yateley Ladies II 0: PETERSFIELD Ladies faced Yateley Ladies’ second team, who were three places above them in the league table.

Petersfield’s attacking front line were quick off the mark and won possession early on, and J Sinclair opened the scoring and gave Petersfield the lead in the first three minutes.

Play flowed freely from both wings as Petersfield kept Yateley in their own D.

Attacking runs from Easton broke up the opposition’s defence. A foot on the line from Yateley’s last woman gave Petersfield a penalty flick and JA Sinclair powered it home convincingly.

The goals continued to flow as the home side opened up a 5-0 lead in the opening 20 minutes of the first half, with J Sinclair scoring her second goal and Hedges scoring two goals.

A strong start allowed Petersfield the opportunity to sit back in the second half and control the play.

With only one substitute the home side’s fitness diminished, which gave the visitors easy chances to attack.

Consistent defending from Presnell, Crew and Llewelyn held the opposition at bay, and skilful play by Forrest on her debut took Petersfield out of the danger zone and allowed J Sinclair to score the sixth goal and complete her hat-trick.

The convincing win took Petersfield up to sixth place in the league table.

Petersfield Ladies will be in action in the Hampshire Trophy Cup this Sunday, when they will take on Havant Ladies’ third team away in Portsmouth at 10.30am.
