Steep v AWE Tadley

AFTER last week's bowler-inspired victory, this week saw Steep's batsmen take centre stage with a record breaking victory against AWE Tadley.

Skipper John Smith won the toss and elected to field. Tadley openers Lovegrove and Bellfield started cautiously before opening up.

Dean Knight made the breakthrough by having Lovegrove smartly stumped by Dale Collins for 67. Bellfield then fell for 65, before Deller-Merricks and Parsons tore into the Steep attack.

Deller-Merricks scored a 23 ball half-century before being bowled by Knight for 85, and Parsons fell for 50....
