STEEP’S ten-year-old kart racer Dylan Brierley finished second in this year’s Formula 6 Kart Championship, taking an overall race win and two class wins over the year.

Brierley competed in seven rounds held in Kent, Suffolk, Dorset and Hampshire, including the famous Buckmore Park international circuit in his Project One Honda cadet kart.

The last round was held at Bayford Meadows in Sittingbourne on September 20. Brierley qualified third and achieved fastest laps in both heats to start the final in fourth place.

The 18-lap final was packed with excitement as the leading five pulled away and continually swapped positions. Brierley progressed into second place and with two laps to go took the lead. Championship leader Harry Arthur retook the lead half a lap later, and Brierley finished just 0.2 seconds behind him.
