A COWPLAIN man who joined a Blendworth archery club only a year ago has added a major string to his bow.

The Forest of Bere Bowmen has made Colin Taylor their Supreme Archer of the Year for 2017. Colin’s progress has been incredible as he’s beaten much more experienced archers since taking up the sport last year. Tim Madden, of Denmead, and Hetti Parkes, of Drayton, were handed the Leading Recurve Men’s and Women’s titles while the former’s son, Sean, won the Leading Junior award.

Phil Hodges, from Petersfield, won the longbow competition while Gill Merrett, of Horndean, was the leading lady.

To round off an excellent afternoon, Mr Taylor also beat everyone to secure the handicap adjusted prize while Horndean junior, Sophie Konig, came second.
