LIPHOOK Tennis Club celebrated the opening of its refurbished clubhouse and the start of the new grass court season with an American tournament and the ballot for Wimbledon tickets.
The weather was kind and the grass courts were in pristine condition, thanks to the efforts of groundsman Peter Terry and his team from the parish council.
Both the weather and the court condition were much appreciated by the strong entry for the competition.
The younger players were well represented, but the advantages of youth were balanced by the experience of a good showing by the University of the Third Age group.
In the final, Amber Doy and Allan Kettles just edged out Janet Caley and James Barrow....
