Aldershot & Farnham Ladies IV 1 Petersfield Ladies III 4: PETERSFIELD Ladies’ third team proved this weekend that they were more than capable of surviving in the competitive league.

After a year in Hampshire’s friendly development league, the team moved this season to Hampshire Division 6. Their first fixture was against Aldershot and Farnham ladies’ fourth team.

Petersfield immediately went on the attack and Roberts came close to scoring several times.

Petersfield’s attacking approach did push the midfield too far up and one break from Aldershot put too much pressure on the Petersfield defence, leading to a first goal against the new team. Petersfield quickly went in search of more opportunities, and Roberts and Chandler both scored before the break.

Petersfield extended their lead in the second half when Clare produced a gorgeous hit from the top of the D. Petersfield then went 4-1 up as Chandler reacted quickly when the ball stopped dead behind the goalkeeper.
