WRESTLING is returning to Petersfield this weekend.

Main Event Megastars will be putting on a show at the Festival Hall in Heath Road on Saturday evening.

Two of the wrestlers in action, Andy Simmons and Katy Bishop, have connections to the Petersfield area.

Katy is making her debut inside the wrestling ring and Andy, who has helped organise the show, is encouraging people to come along and show their support for her.

Andy said: “Katy has been training with us for about a year and Saturday will be her debut.

“Katy is a personal trainer at the Taro Leisure Centre and she lives locally, so it would be great if there is a lot of support for her.”

The event will also be a return to Petersfield for Andy, who used to live in the town.

He said: “I lived in Petersfield from three years old to nine years old, and I then lived in Liss and went to Bohunt School.

“I drove through Petersfield the other day and I still love the town, and, hopefully, it will be a very good show on Saturday.

“It will be a family-friendly show with goodies and baddies to get the children excited.”

Doors open at the Festival Hall at 7pm and the show starts at 7.30pm.

Tickets cost £10 for adults and £8 for children, students and pensioners.

Spectators who would like to buy tickets in advance should visit www.facebook.com/maineventmegastars for further details.

Andy also oversees training at Revolution Pro’s Portsmouth School of Wrestling, and he says anyone can give the sport a go.
