A YOUNG archer has won an award after making big improvements with the Forest of Bere Bowmen.

Every year all archery clubs within Archery GB award a medal on behalf of the national body to the archer whose handicap within each club has improved the most.

This year Marcus Taylor of Cowplain, a pupil at Horndean Technology College, has received that award. Marcus, with his father, Colin, completed a beginners course at Forest of Bere Bowmen in 2016.

Both Marcus and Colin have worked extremely hard to improve their handicaps since joining the club.

While Colin has made big improvements, Marcus improved by a resounding 29, a larger amount than anybody else in the club’s history.
