COVERS of rock classics from the likes of Jimi Hendrix and Eric Clapton are being performed at a live gig at Petersfield Football Club.

The four-piece Part of a Plan band, with three of the members from Petersfield, is holding the event on Saturday, February 4, at the Love Lane club, in support of frontman Paul Jenkins’ son.

Six-year-old Ollie, who lives near Bishop’s Waltham, was born premature with cerebral palsy, and needs a life-changing operation to help him walk.

Not available on the NHS any more, this costs £23,000. A fundraising drive has brought in most of the money for the operation in Bristol in May, but a final push is needed.

Paul and his fellow band members – bassist Jeff Dowse, guitarist Matt Clawson and drummer Tim Wheeler, who practice at Buriton church and at The Square Brewery in Petersfield, promise a cracking night of music for rock fans.

Tickets are £4.95 on the door, or from www.seetickets.com. There is a bar and parking.
