THE SOUNDS and spectacle of military history is brought alive again as Overlord 2017 blasts into Denmead at the weekend.

Re-enactors and military vehicles will depict conflicts from the First World War onwards in exciting arena action at the event on The Lawns, Forest Road, on Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

Living history groups will be giving expert insights into the life of soldiers from many nationalities who were involved in the two world wars, Vietnam and the Gulf War. Land Rovers, Jeeps and giant trucks are some of the vehicles which will be displayed and used for driving demonstrations.

To complement the 1940s’ theme, there will be a fashion show with clothes from the era. A beer tent and food outlets will offer a range of refreshments.

Organised by the Solent Overlord Executive Military Collectors’ Club, Overlord is this year raising money for the Invictus Games Foundation. Visit www.overlord show.co.uk
