RAPIDLY becoming renowned for her captivating, intimate live performances, Hannah Sanders is taking in Hambledon on her 2016 solo tour.
The exciting English folk singer, who released her debut album Charms Against Sorrow last year, is at Hambledon Folk Club at the village hall on February 10.
She is accompanied by Ben Savage of The Willow Band on guitar and Dobro.
Hannah grew up travelling around Europe and performing renditions of folk songs in four part harmony with her family band The Dunns.
She then left music to pursue a career as a cultural anthropologist, becoming a leading expert on contemporary witchcraft and popular culture while living in Boston.
Her recent return to Britain coincided with a return to folk singing, accompanied on baritone dulcimer and guitar. Following two well-received EPs – Warning Bells and Fate – she released the album.
She’s equally adept at delivering love songs as a dark murder ballad, and her understanding of traditional song shines through.
Tickets are £10 on the door or from 023 9263 2719.
