GET STUCK into the world’s biggest celebration of archaeology at Butser Ancient Farm.
The museum is holding a hands-on Try It! Day on Friday, July 28, from 10am to 5pm, as part of the Festival of Archaeology.
Hundreds of events are taking place across the country at this prestigious festival organised by the Council for British Archaeology.
It is now in its 27th year with the aim of putting people in touch with their heritage.
And this is a chance to join in, and to try wattling, felting, bushcraft, thatching, cooking and more.
Visitors will be able to try on costumes too, learn about the Roman Legion, and discover the wildlife on site, with the beautiful backdrop of the South Downs.
“Try It! Day is a fantastic way to engage our visitors with archaeology whilst having a lot of fun at the same time,” enthused Butser Ancient Farm’s creative developer Tiffany Francis.
“If you haven’t been to the farm or you’re keen to get a flavour of what the world of archaeology is all about, this is the perfect event for you.
“We hope to welcome old friends and new visitors as we kick start the summer holiday.”
?Tickets are £8 for adults, £7 for concessions and £4 for children, and under-fives go free.
