POLICE are appealing for witnesses, or dash cam footage, after a motorcyclist suffered serious injuries in a crash on the A3 near Liphook on Saturday afternoon.

A police spokesman said: “We are appealing for witnesses after a collision involving a car and motorcycle on the A3 on September 4 on the southbound carriageway near Griggs Green.”

Following the accident at about 4pm the south bound carriageway was closed with about a dozen emergency service vehicles and the air ambulance attending.

A driver on the road north of the accident said: “Southbound traffic was exiting at the Griggs Green slip road, and there were long queues.”

The police spokesman added: “A blue Kawasaki motorcycle and dark blue Honda Jazz had collided, with the rider of the motorcycle, a man in his 50s, suffering serious chest injuries.

“Officers are keen to speak with any witnesses, particularly anyone with dash cam footage, and are particularly keen to speak with the driver of a black Volkswagen Golf, believed to be a 2008 plate, who was just ahead of the motorcycle and could have important information.”
