HOLLYCOMBE Steam in the Country welcomed dozens of miniature steam engines, courtesy of the West Surrey Modellors, over what was a busy weekend (May 7 and 8).
Organiser Tony Dezell was thrilled with the way the event had gone.
He said: “The weather was perfect – we had great company and were well and truly looked after by the volunteers at Hollycombe.
“We particularly enjoyed the opportunity to have a mass line-up of the engines by the railway on both Saturday and Sunday. We have been coming to Hollycombe for over 30 years, attracting club members the length and breadth of the country. We look forward to continuing the tradition next year.”
With Hollycombe’s famed Azalea Walk just beginning to flower, many visitors used the opportunity to picnic in the extensive woodland gardens, where a display of bluebells provided the backdrop to the weekend.
