A BRAND new family board game is to be launched at a fundraiser for a charity providing a hospice at home service in the Petersfield area.

All profits from the launch of The Great Fishing Match game at Langrish House Hotel will go to the Rosemary Foundation.

Games are normally set a time limit of one hour, and a knowledge of freshwater fish and angling is not needed to play, said the game’s creator Mike Haggerty.

He added: “Because there’s always a definite time limit on the length of each game, it makes it perfect for friendly indoor competitions.

“At Langrish we expect to have anywhere between 36 and 48 members of the public playing simultaneously, using up to eight game sets.”

Based near Langrish, the Rosemary Foundation charity provides clinical staff to help patients in the latter stage of life-limiting conditions in Petersfield and the surrounding towns and villages.

Rosemary Foundation manager Jeremy Mitchell said: “We are very grateful to both Mr Haggerty and Langrish House for supporting our work with the launch. As we are a charity, we depend on the efforts of supporters like these so we can continue to provide our service.”

The Great Fishing Match game is due to be launched on Saturday, March 18, 6.15pm to 9pm. The entrance fee is £8 for anyone wanting to play the new game and £4 for spectators, and will include light refreshments and prizes for game winners.
