A BOOK which gives a snapshot of life in Petersfield and a replica Saxon house near Chalton have been shortlisted for a countryside awards scheme.
The tenth annual Countryside Awards for Hampshire are run by the county’s branch of the Campaign to Protect Rural England (CPRE).
The Petersfield Society’s book, called A Celebration of Petersfield, A Town and its People, has been shortlisted for an award in the community and voluntary category.
Butser Education Community Interest Company (CIC) has been shortlisted in the sustainable buildings category for its Saxon house, which was built at Butser Ancient Farm.
The building is made of natural, renewable materials and its construction has also showcased traditional rural skills.
Judges will be visiting those who have been shortlisted during the summer and the winners will be announced at a ceremony on September 15 by the Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire.
