The steering group is being chaired by Bramshott and Liphook parish councillor Susan Garnett, and more volunteers can join the group’s working parties.
Cllr Garnett said: “One district councillor, two parish councillors and six members of the public are the current membership of the steering group. We have a variety of talents and backgrounds, a lawyer, an engineer, a construction consultant, a builder, a person with transport experience, parents, people with elderly parents, some married some single, a cross section of our community.
“Supporting the steering group will be working parties that can and will invite other members of the community to join in the work.
“The most important element of our work is to consult as widely as possible and obtain the views of as many people as possible.
“Big issues for the BLNDP will be infrastructure and leisure opportunities for residents. At present there is little for the residents and the draw to the area seems to be the railway station.”
A large amount of funding has already been secured for the BLNDP.
Cllr Garnett said: “East Hampshire District Council initially informed us that they would only pay for consultation, examination, printing and provide some officer support, but they have agreed to give us £5,000 and to pay for travel and subsistence for our expert in addition to those items.
“We are told we can apply for grant funding limited to £9,000 per annum from central government and there are some exceptional additional items we can apply for financial support.
“Bramshott and Liphook Parish Council had put aside £7,500 in 2014-15 and the same in 2015-16 towards the BLNDP, and has decided upon a one-off figure of £35,000 for the year 2016-17.
“So at present there is allocated £50,000 from the parish council, £5,000 from EHDC, grants from central government and additional costs to be met by EHDC.”
The BLNDP will also make use of the Bramshott and Liphook Parish Plan.
Cllr Garnett said: “The parish plan was produced under the leadership of Trevor Maroney and is a great deal more comprehensive than most other parish plans.
“The objectives were different from the BLNDP but we will use the work that has already been done as some of our foundation.”
