WITH a hot and sunny weather forecast Liss Forest Residents’ Association (LFRA) set up this year’s fun day in full confidence it would not be rained off.
Hounds for Heroes founder Allen Parton made his entrance to open the fete, escorted by two assistance dogs, EJ and Rookie.
Several hundred people attended, dozens of dogs were entered into the fun dog show and the food and drink outlets did a brisk trade.
The stalls offered games of chance and skill, children’s novelty races took place and the afternoon finished with the traditional tug of war.
It was a bumper year with £1,500 raised, which will be distributed to local charities.
Organisers thanked LFRA chairman Peter Coley, the driving force behind the event, Chris Pashby-Taylor, the energetic administrator, and Ian Blake, the tireless treasurer, all of whom were backed up by a hardworking and enthusiastic team.
