THE FATHER of one of the couples who paid deposits to hold their wedding reception at the Manor Barn says it’s estimated barn owner Bob Camping owes hundreds of thousands of pounds to couples.

David Campini said: “We have identified 58 couples who have paid about £200,000 in deposits.

“Now the licence has been revoked it gives us the chance to try to get the money back legally.”

Mr Camping has said he plans to sell his house, also in the Manor Barn complex, and the wedding reception venue to repay the money. But the offer has been viewed with scepticism by some couples, who say he has cancelled meetings aimed at discussing repayment of deposits.
