Cracking up: Frustrated Petersfield councillor blames government for pothole woesThis was in recognition of their voluntary efforts to cook 4,000 free meals for older people forced to stay at home by coronavirus. They were delivered by 21 drivers who volunteered for Age Concern, plus Liss Lunch Club drivers.
Age Concern Petersfield manager Sheridan Rocher said: “Our huge thanks to the chefs at Churcher’s College. They have given their time for free for the past 21 weeks and we are truly so thankful to them for their delicious meals.
“It can’t have been easy trying to find things that would look good in a container, but they managed it. Thanks also to them for the extra little surprises like the Easter eggs and the VE Day cream teas.
“Thanks to the band of merry drivers who pitched up each week to deliver meals with a ready smile. And thanks to the recipients – it has been a pleasure for us all to get to know you better.”
