Children will go quackers as hit CBeebies show is staged

THE?ENCHANTED world of CBeebies’ hit animated series Sarah and Duck will be brought to life on stage at the Theatre Royal Winchester on June 29.

The one-hour show is aimed at children aged three to six years and features a host of characters from the BAFTA award-winning show.

Sarah and Duck, with their favourite friends, including The Ribbon Sisters, The Shallots, John and Flamingo and Umbrella, plan a circus-themed birthday party for Scarf Lady in their garden.

But when the weather turns windy, and the big top is blown away, will the duo be able to save the day?

Told through a blend of inventive puppetry, charming storytelling and toe-tapping music, Sarah and Duck’s Big top Birthday will take children and their families on a magical theatrical trip.

Sarah and Duck, which follows the gentle adventures of a wide-eyed seven-year-old girl and her feathered best friend, has been a huge hit since its debut in 2013.

Now in its third series, after winning a BAFTA for ‘Best Pre School Animation’ in 2014, it is shown in more than 100 countries.

Sarah and?Duck’s Big Top Birthday is written by Peter Glanville and directed by Roman Stefanski.

Performances are at 1.30pm and 3.30pm.
