A MOTHER-OF-THREE from Clanfield has been named as a finalist in a top modelling
competition.
Anna Koussertari, 39, has won a place in The Top Model 2019 Model, Fashion and Awards Show.
Anna, who was born in London but whose family is from Cyprus, got into modelling while at university but stopped to raise her three children.
Anna also worked at her father’s fish and chip shop Nicky’s, in Sheep Street, Petersfield, for many years.
Now she is hoping to give a boost to Children with Cancer by raising money for the charity, as she has been involved with the group over the years.
She said: “I got into modelling when I enrolled at Solent University studying graphic design to help out a friend of mine who was studying photography and fashion at the time.
“He put me in touch with a few other photographers and from then on I managed to make some extra money to help me fund my studies.
“I have been doing it ever since.
“I stopped modelling 13 years ago and moved to Clanfield to raise my three children but one day I saw an advert wanting new models.
“My sister Nicola talked me into applying and setting up a online profile. I managed to catch the eye of a few casting directors and got some extra work.”
Anna was persuaded by the casting director of Top Models 2019 to audition, and now she has made it as a finalist in the over-25 category.
She added: “My mother is the real reason I’m doing this. She is the perfect role model. When she was 30, and raising four children and working full time, she also took night classes to be a dental nurse.”
