Roadworks haven’t been the only obstacle to free flowing traffic in Petersfield town centre recently as two huge potholes off Dragon Street have been interestingly filled.
Sizeable potholes on St Peter’s Road and The Avenue have been filled with cones ahead of long-awaited repairs.
Town councillor, John Lees, recently described the latter pothole as “big enough to fit a dog in”.
“I was very surprised when I drove down The Avenue to find a cone sitting in the pothole in the middle of the road,” said Steve Dewey to Petersfield Town Council on Thursday (May 1).
County councillor, Russell Oppenheimer, claimed the move means it’s likely that Hampshire Highways have the work “in their system” and repairs are scheduled.
